Ben Jasper

Ben was 8 years old when he passed in August 06. He had cerebral palsy and epilepsy (West Syndrome) and generaly had complex health problems. Although he was unable to sit unaided or talk he was an extremely loving and brave little man. He always had a smile for us, even when I'm sure he couldn't have felt like smiling. He loved animals and had many, including guinea-pigs, a labrador and a donkey. He had big blue eyes and hair that would go blonde in the summer. He had such long eyelashes, all the girls were jealous. He delighted us with his laughter. We had never known love like the love he gave us. He was our life, our love, our beautiful boy.

The Psychiatric Diagnostic Statistical Manual states that losing a child is a catastrophic stressor unlike any other
